ISO 14001 version 2015 corresponds to the international certification standard granted to organizations for their responsibility and commitment to environmental protection, appropriate management of environmental risks and impacts, and sustainable use of resources.

For this assessment, the certifying institution audited the Central Bank's Environmental Management System by visiting different facilities of the Bank’s headquarters including the Cash Center, the Cultural Area, and other administrative offices, and then some branch offices, cultural agencies, and the Mint, where it verified in the field the progress made regarding sustainable facilities and processes and the environmental management support performed.

This certification is valid for three years and will have a yearly follow-up at the different sites of the Bank in the country. It complements the ISO 9000 quality certifications which different areas of the Bank had obtained for the processes under their responsibility.

This achievement is the result of the continuous, methodical, and collaborative work of process leaders and their teams across the country, which has generated synergies for the care of the Colombian environmental heritage. Our appreciation to all of the Bank´s offices that participated in this endeavor and contributed to this achievement, especially to the Environmental Management Unit for its coordinating activities.
