Banco de la República has announced which colleges of economics at Colombian universities will be able to nominate teachers for the Advanced Economics Course for Teachers. The course will be held online between 15 June and 9 July 2021.

Participants will have access to academic sessions in which researchers and members of the Central Bank's technical staff will share some of the ongoing studies that serve as input for the Board of Directors’ decision-making process.

They will also be able to exchange experiences over the course of four weeks with the purpose of sharing information with teachers and students at their respective universities. Among the topics included in the course for 2021 and 2022, the most notable are monetary policy, fiscal policy, labor market, and global macroeconomics.

The organizing committee will send the universities and their colleges of economics detailed information on how to nominate a faculty member (one per university).

The universities were divided into two groups: universities in the first group will take the course this year (2021), and the second group will do so in 2022.
