Foreign Reserves Management Report

The Political Constitution of Colombia and Article 14 of Law 31 of 1992 assign Banco de la República (the Central Bank of Colombia) the function of managing Colombia's foreign reserves. This document explains the Bank's management of the country’s foreign reserves. First, the report presents the main concepts associated with the foreign reserves and the framework within which they are managed by Banco de la República. Subsequently, it explains the administration policies and the main aspects of their operation. Finally, it describes the current situation of the reserves. The report is published every two years. 

La Constitución Política de Colombia y el artículo 14 de la Ley 31 de 1992 asignan al Banco de la República la función de administrar las reservas internacionales. El propósito de este documento es explicar la gestión de las reservas internacionales de Colombia por parte del Banco. Primero, se presentan los principales conceptos asociados con las reservas internacionales así como el marco en el cual se realiza su gestión por parte del Banco de la República. Posteriormente, se explican las políticas de administración y los aspectos fundamentales de su operatividad. Por último, se realiza un recuento sobre el estado actual de las reservas. La publicación del informe tiene frecuencia bienal.
