The President of Colombia appointed the new Auditor General of Banco de la República

Ms. Norela Esperanza Jiménez Méndez replaces Mr. Luis Orjuela in the position.

On Thursday January 25, the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, appointed Ms. Norela Esperanza Jiménez Méndez to the position of Auditor General of Banco de la República (the Central Bank of Colombia, BanRep).

Ms. Jiménez is a certified public accountant from Universidad Santo Tomás and a specialist in Financial Risk Management from Universidad Sergio Arboleda. In addition, she has served as an Audit and Assurance Partner at Deloitte Perú and a Partner at Deloitte Colombia.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Ricardo Bonilla, the Governor of Banco de la República, Mr. Leonardo Villar, the Deputy Executive Governor, Ms. Marcela Ocampo, and the Chief Financial Officer of Banrep, Ms. Luisa Silva.

Banco de la República welcomes the new auditor, Ms. Norela Esperanza Jiménez Méndez, and thanks Mr. Luis Orjuela for his work as Auditor General for several years at the Bank.
