The Board of Directors of Banco de la República notifies updates to some of its calendar of monthly meetings and monetary policy announcements

In a press release dated March 23, 2023, the DANE (National Administrative Department of Statistics announced that, as of June 2023, the CPI will be released on the fifth business day of each month (formerly published on the fifth calendar day of the month) at 6:00 p.m. (previously published at 6:00 a.m.).

To safeguard the technical quality of the macroeconomic forecasting process conducted by Banco de la República's technical staff and, thus, the information presented for monetary policy decision-making, the Board of Directors has decided to:

• Adjust the dates of its meetings, except for the December meeting, so that meetings of the Board of Directors of Banco de la República in which monetary policy decisions are made will now be held on the last business day of the month; and
• Adjust the publication date of the Monetary Policy Report (MPR) and Minutes, and the date for the presentation of the MPR by the Technical Manager as follows:
  • Press release and press meeting: will occur on the same day of the Board of Directors' meeting, starting at 1:00 p.m. for meetings where monetary policy decisions are made.
  • Monetary Policy Report: will be published on the second business day following the January, April, July, and October Board of Directors' meetings.
  • Minutes: will be published on the third business day following the Board of Directors' meeting for meetings in which monetary policy decisions are made.
  • Presentation of the Monetary Policy Report: will occur on the fourth business day following the January, April, July, and October Board of Directors' meetings. 

Given the above, the dates for the Board of Directors' meeting, publication of the Minutes and Monetary Policy Report, and the presentation of the Monetary Policy Report will be as follows:
